A spirit lantern is your own creation - the light that you want to share with others.   
Lanterns are traditional in a wide vareity of cultures, Chinese, Asian, Irish, Japenese.   
The photo on the left are lanterns, using recycled materials, that were made for our 2007 festival by local children and teachers.  
The photo on the right shows how creativity has no bounds at Victoria's famous Iluminaria!
